Come, come sit with me... grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair. πΉ
I bet some of you have wondered why I always tell you to grab a drink and pull up a chair. LOL.
It's because when I think about you reading my blog, that's exactly how I picture it.
I picture you curled up on the couch with a cup of coffee or tea. Maybe you're taking a little break from your day, sitting on the porch, or winding down before bed.
I want you to be comfortable.
I want this to feel like we're sitting together, chatting about life.
I think part of that comes from how I grew up.
When I was a kid, Sunday dinners at my grandparents' house were just what we did. The whole family would gather around the table. There was always food, laughter, stories, and time spent together. Those dinners weren't fancy, but they were full of love and connection.
Later, when I moved away from my family, I found a second family with my bestie and her family. For more than ten years, Friday or Sunday family dinners became our tradition. One of my favourite memories was seeing the joy on my bestie's mom's face when everyone was together. It wasn't really about the meal... it was about the people sitting around the table. We laughed, shared stories, caught up on each other's lives, and created memories without even realizing it.
Sometimes I wonder if we're missing a little of that today.
Even when families go out for dinner, it's easy for everyone to be looking at a phone or an iPad instead of looking at each other. Life is busy, and technology has become part of all of our lives, but I think we all still long for those moments where we simply feel connected.
When was the last time you sat around a table and nobody was in a hurry?
When was the last meal where everyone stayed after the dishes were cleared just to keep talking?
When was the last time someone looked you in the eye and asked, "How are you... really?"
Memories mean a lot to me because I'm a connection kind of person.
I love hearing about people's experiences, their stories, and the moments that have shaped who they are. And if I don't quite understand... Lord knows I'll keep asking questions until I do! π Just ask my friends.
To me, every person has a story worth hearing.
Maybe that's why "Come, come sit with me... grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair" has become my way of welcoming you.
When you pull up a chair at my table, I want you to feel the connection.
I want you to know that, for the next few minutes, we're simply two people sharing a conversation about life.
I want you to laugh with me, reflect with me, remember with me, and most of all, know that you're not alone.
Because sometimes the greatest gift we can give each other isn't advice...
It's simply making someone feel seen, heard, and welcome.
That's what I hope this little corner of the internet will always be.
A place where there is always a story to share...
Always a conversation waiting...
So the next time you read one of my blogs, I hope you'll picture this...
The kettle is on, or maybe there's a nice cold drink waiting for you.
The door is open.
Come, come sit with me...
There will always be a chair waiting for you here. πΉ

Sometimes the greatest connections aren't made because we have all the answers...
They're made because someone simply invited us to sit down.
