The Road Does Go Both Ways πŸš—

Come, come sit with me, grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair...

You all, I was travelling last week for work. Can I tell you? I learned a few things.

Okay... a lot of things. πŸ˜‚

Oh... before I go any further, the trip actually started with an upgrade on the plane.

Now, that upgrade was... interesting, to say the least. πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

Let's just say the lady sitting beside me gave me a travel story I'll never forget.

I'll save the details for another blog because trust me... that one deserves a blog all on its own. πŸ˜‚

Let's start with this... I was nervous. Like, really nervous.

Would I get my point across? Would I talk too fast? Too slow? Would they like me? Even though I've talked to them for a long time, meeting people in person is different. A million thoughts were running through my head.

The other thing was I had a lot of driving to do between meetings... so you guessed it... MORE thinking.

Thank God I love music because, without it, me and my thoughts would have had far too much time together. πŸ˜‚

This is me throwing my hands up in the air. πŸ˜‚

Now picture me on this work road trip... all by myself. Just me, my thoughts, my music, and the open road.

So, number one... I've had my car for quite a while. I used to buy a new one every four years or so.

Well... after driving all those rental cars lately, I realized something.

That need?

Taken care of. πŸ˜‚

Second... where I was travelling, people drove FAST. And I mean FAST.

You either kept up with traffic, or you became the hazard on the road.

Can you believe this? My new nickname became “Speedy.” πŸ˜‚

Third... the weather.

It started out cold... well, cold to me. πŸ˜‚ Then, Lord, did it get hot.

Now, you all know I'm not an air-conditioning kind of girl... but by the middle of the day? That air conditioner was on FULL BLAST.

Okay, okay... I just had to get those little things out first. πŸ˜„

Oh... and can I just say... I didn't see a single police officer until the fourth day!

I believe with all my heart that I have a heartfelt connection with my clients. They mean something to me.

But sometimes I wonder... does the road go both ways?

I think that was part of my fear.

Would we still have that same connection in person?

I am so happy to say...

YES.

A thousand times, yes.

There was straight talk because, after all, it was a work trip.

But there was also laughter... of course.

My clients have seen my many faces, but when I am there in person, they get to see even more of me. My hands are going when I talk, and when I laugh, my head gets thrown back.

You can see and feel the joy.

Then there were the hugs... and those smiles that reached their eyes as I was leaving.

I got to spend time with some really amazing people.

I got to hear their stories, their experiences, and a little piece of who they are.

Those memories will stay with me for a very long time.

Sometimes we don't realize how much a connection means until we're standing face to face.

Last week reminded me that the road does go both ways.

And for that... I came home with a very full heart. 🌹
