Come, come sit with me, grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair….
Today’s blog is a big one for me.
It marks a place that I never imagined I would get to, and quite honestly, it’s because of you that I got here.
Today marks 100 blogs.
When I wrote my very first post, I never imagined I would one day be sitting here writing my one hundredth. I wasn’t thinking about numbers back then. I was simply hoping that maybe, just maybe, something I wrote would connect with someone.
I started this blog because I wanted to connect with other people who love to read books with a little spice… or maybe a lot of spice. ππ
I thought we would spend our time talking about our favourite characters, the books we couldn’t put down, and those stories that stayed with us long after we turned the last page.
But somewhere along the way… something changed.
I started talking about life.
I started talking about love… because we all know how I feel about love.
I found myself writing about relationships, family, friendships, dreams, grief, laughter, kindness, and all those little moments that make up a life.
Somehow, this little blog became so much more than books.
The truth is, I don’t have all the answers.
I’m walking through this life just like you.
Some days I get it right. Some days I don’t. Some days I laugh until my stomach hurts, and other days I question everything.
I’m still learning.
I’m still growing.
I’m still making mistakes.
I don’t write because I’ve figured life out.
I write because I’m walking this journey too, and maybe something I’ve learned, experienced, or wondered about will make you stop and think… or remind you that you’re not alone.
Because the truth is… none of us have life all figured out.
And I have to tell you…
There were days when I thought about quitting.
Days when I wondered if I should stop writing altogether.
Life gets busy. Work gets busy. Sometimes I questioned whether anyone was really reading or if what I had to say even mattered.
But every time I stepped away…
Something kept pulling me back.
The more I think about it, the more I realize what that something was.
It was the connection.
Some blogs made me laugh while I was writing them.
Others had me sitting quietly, wondering if I should even hit publish.
Some came from moments of pure joy.
Others came from seasons that were much harder to put into words.
And I have a feeling many of you have lived through those seasons too.
But every single one of them came from my heart.
But here’s where my gratitude and joy come from…
I may not see you, but I feel your connection.
Every time you come back and read another blog, listen to a podcast, or spend a few minutes here with me, I feel it.
And that, my people, is what keeps me writing.
Here’s another truth…
Now, when I look at a chair, it has meaning for me.
It’s no longer just a chair.
It’s a place where conversations happen.
It’s a place where connections are made.
No matter how big or how small…
Every conversation matters.
And every connection matters.
Maybe that’s why I always ask you to pull up a chair.
Not because I have all the answers…
But because I believe life is a little easier when we don’t have to walk through it alone.
So, to every one of you who has read one blog… or all 100…
Thank you.
Thank you for pulling up a chair.
Thank you for sharing a little piece of your day with me.
I don’t know where this journey will take us next…
But I do know one thing.
As long as I have something on my heart to share…
There will always be a chair waiting for you here.
Love,
Lisa πΉ
