π️ Am I Enough?

Come, come sit with me, grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair...
Let me start by saying these last few months have been an adjustment—but a good one.
I've been busy. Learning. Meeting new people. Finding my footing in a new season. Like many new beginnings, there have been moments where I've questioned myself and wondered if I'm doing everything right.
But through it all, there's been one thought that's been living rent-free in my head...
Why do we spend so much time wondering if we're enough?
Sit with that for a moment.
I don't think it's because we're weak.
I think it's because we care.
We want to be a good employee.
A good parent.
A good friend.
A good partner.
A good son or daughter.
A good person.
Somewhere along the way, our desire to do our best quietly becomes the voice that asks...
"Am I enough?"
And there it is again...
Am I enough?
Before you know it, your mind starts wandering down so many different paths.
Some of those paths are good. They remind us of the people we've helped, the things we've accomplished and the moments we made someone smile.
But then there are the other paths.
The ones that quietly whisper...
Maybe I should have done more.
Maybe I wasn't good enough.
Maybe I said the wrong thing.
Maybe someone else could have done it better.
Sooo... here's my thought.
I do believe there are times when people make us feel like we're not enough. Those moments are real, and I don't want to sugar-coat that.
Sometimes it's something they said.
Sometimes it's something they didn't say.
Sometimes it's the way they treated us.
Those moments can stay with us for years.
Other people may plant the seed...
...but we often keep watering it.
We replay the conversations.
We question ourselves.
We wonder if we should have done more, said more or somehow been more.
Long after those people have moved on, we sometimes continue repeating their words to ourselves.
Before long, we've become the very person convincing ourselves that we're not enough.
This is when we need to have those honest conversations with ourselves.
This is when we need to tell that little devil inside our heads...
"You don't get to win today."
Because we are enough.
More than enough.
That doesn't mean we're perfect.
It doesn't mean we'll never make mistakes.
It doesn't mean we'll never have days where we question ourselves.
It simply means one mistake doesn't define us.
One opinion doesn't define us.
One person's words don't define us.
We are being shown every single day that we are enough.
We just don't always see it.
So...
Stop.
Look up.
And see it.
See the people who smile when you walk into a room.
See the friend who always answers your call.
See the coworker who trusts you.
See the people who love you.
See the lives you've touched without even realizing it.
The reminders are there.
They've probably been there all along.
We just have to stop looking down at our doubts long enough to look up and see the evidence.
So the next time that little voice asks...
"Am I enough?"
Stop.
Look up.
And see it.
πΉ Whisper: Other people may plant the seed... but you don't have to keep watering it. Stop. Look up. And see all the quiet reminders that you've been enough all along.
