Grieving Lost Dreams 🌹

Come come sit with me, grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair. Have you ever had one of those weeks… or maybe even months… where you feel like you’re grieving, but you’re not fully sure what you’re grieving about? I realized my grief was about lost dreams. You know… we all carry these pictures in our heads of how we think life is going to look. The things we thought we would have by now. The people we thought would still be beside us. The moments we were sure would happen one day. But then time passes… and some of those dreams never get fulfilled the way we imagined they would. Some of those dreams have truly passed on… and honestly, that hurts. The strange thing is, you think you’ve let them go. You think you’ve made peace with them. But then out of nowhere, they pop back up unexpectedly… and you realize the ache is still there. I think sometimes we grieve the life we thought we would have by a certain age. Maybe we pictured marriage, children, more security, a di...

Things We Pretend We Don’t Do (But Absolutely Do) πŸ˜‚

Come, come sit with me… grab your drink and pull up a chair.

Listen guys, I have had a tough week and I just wanted some laughter… so this blog is for pure fun. No lesson, no teaching… just fun! πŸ˜‚

Girl… tell me why we all pretend we have our lives together when half the time we’re just out here surviving on snacks, tea, and delayed emotional reactions. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Like…

Why do we:

  • Open the fridge 14 times like new food is going to magically appear?
  • Reheat our tea/coffee three times and still drink it cold?
  • Say “I’m going to bed early tonight” and suddenly it’s 11:47 PM and we’re watching cat and dog videos with voice overs like they’re full cinematic productions? πŸ˜‚

And don’t even get me started on fake arguments in the shower.

Ohhhh in the shower?
I win EVERY argument. πŸ˜‚

The comebacks are flawless.
The attitude?
Award-winning.

Then the real conversation happens and suddenly I forget my own name.

And another thing…

Why do we all suddenly become professional investigators when someone texts:

πŸ‘‰ “K.”

Excuse me?
Are you mad?
Are we fighting?
Did I miss something?
Should I apologize?
Should I move to another country? πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

One letter can ruin a whole evening.

And grocery shopping?

Tell me WHY we walk in saying:

πŸ‘‰ “I’m only getting one thing.”

Then leave spending $125 and somehow still have nothing to eat.

HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?! πŸ˜‚

And don’t even get me started on books…

You tell yourself:

πŸ‘‰ “Okay, just one chapter before bed.”

Next thing you know it’s 1:08 AM, your eyes are burning, you have to work in the morning…
BUT there are only two chapters left and now you emotionally need to know what happens. πŸ˜‚

And heaven forbid there’s a plot twist.

Now you’re sitting upright in bed looking personally betrayed by fictional people.

Also…
Why do we narrate our lives out loud when nobody is home?

“Okay Lisa, let’s get it together.”
“Now why did we do that?”
“Girl… absolutely not.”

Like I’m both the employee and the manager of my own chaos. πŸ˜‚

Honestly, maybe none of us really have it together.

Maybe we’re all just tired adults trying our best, reheating tea, talking to ourselves, and emotionally recovering from text messages and fictional characters. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

And honestly?
That makes me feel a little better tonight.

✨ Whisper: Life feels lighter when we stop pretending and just laugh at ourselves for a minute.

If this made you laugh, roll your eyes, or say “girl, same”… then welcome. You are my kind of people. πŸ˜‚
