✨ I Think I Need a Minute

Come, come sit with me, grab yourself a drink and pull up a chair... Okay, real talk here... I am so out of sync right now, it isn't even funny. πŸ˜‚ Y'all, my year has been moving soooo fast, putting one leg out to slow it down has NOT been working. πŸ˜‚ Let me start with work. I enjoy my job, but let me tell you, it has gotten even more interesting when you throw in travel... The stories I have about the airport... making sure you have everything you need to travel with, going through security, then you get the rental car and you just never know what you are going to get. πŸ˜‚ And I haven't even started doing my job yet. Okay, you got your first week of travel done and you're on your way back home... HOME. Mmmm... but when you get there, you want to meet up with friends and family because you've been gone. You need to do laundry, and then you need to get ready for your week... This. THIS has been me for the last five months. So I am sitting here today telling...

A Few Small Ways to Add Self-Care into Your Day

Come, come sit with me… Grab your drink and pull up a chair.

Okay… let’s talk for a moment about self-care.

The world today is moving so fast…
and somewhere in all of that, we forget to take the time to care for ourselves.

We’re always doing for everyone else in our lives… or there’s always something that needs to get done.

And before we know it… it’s bedtime.

And we sit there and think…
what did I actually do for myself today?

Where, in all of that chaos… did we take a moment to care for ourselves?

And it made me think about the small things that can change a whole day…

So here are a few things I thought of—
little ways to give yourself a few minutes of self-care…
to put a smile on your face…
and to give yourself a bit of love as you finish your day.

  • Making a cup of tea or coffee and just sitting for a minute
  • Cooking something simple that you love
  • Stepping outside for a bit of fresh air
  • Putting on your favorite music and letting it play in the background
  • Sending a quick text or making a phone call to your bestie… that should put a smile on your face
  • Or a call with family if they make you laugh (mine make me laugh a lot πŸ˜„)
  • Taking a few quiet minutes with no noise, no distractions
  • Wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket and just relaxing
  • Reading a few pages of your favorite book—even if it’s just at lunchtime
  • Even taking a 20-minute nap during the day… sometimes you just need it πŸ˜„

It doesn’t have to be anything big…

Sometimes it’s the smallest moments that can shift a whole day.

Taking a few minutes for yourself matters.

The point is to stop… and catch your breath.

Whisper: Sometimes the smallest moments are the ones that remind us to come back to ourselves.
