The Love Hidden in a Home-Cooked Meal ๐ŸŒน

Come come sit with me, grab a drink and pull up a chair. The last couple of weeks I have been thinking about my mom. Okay, okay... my mom and food. ๐Ÿ˜„ In my opinion, my mom was a great cook. Child, let me tell you, whenever I went to visit her, I already knew what was coming. The first night would be donairs. The second night? My favourite. Ribs, rice, and tea biscuits. Now let me tell you something... I love tea biscuits. LOVE them. To this day, they are one of the things I have never been able to make quite like my mom did. She would make this sauce to go over the ribs and rice, and it was so good. If I visited in the summer, there would usually be blueberry pie. If I came in the winter, it was apple pie. The funny thing is, when I think about the people in my life, so many of them have a food attached to them. My bestie's husband loves to cook, and let me tell you, that man can make French toast. Mmm mmm. ๐Ÿ˜„ You know the kind where you tell yourself you...

Wedding Things No One Warns You About (But You’ll Laugh Later)

Come, come sit with me.

Romance is in the air lately — I swear it’s floating everywhere.
So naturally, my blog this week is about weddings.

And yes… I’m a little giddy over it. Ha ha ha.

Because let’s be honest — we’ve all been to weddings where certain things happen.

You know exactly what I mean.

You will not eat your own meal. At all. Cold chicken is still a win.
Every single time.

Shoes are a suggestion, not a commitment.
They tried. It didn’t last.

Someone cries before the ceremony even starts. It’s never who you expect.
You already know who it was.

The schedule will absolutely fall apart — and somehow, no one will notice but you.
And yes, you will notice.

One guest will take their role way too seriously.
They appointed themselves.

One guest will ignore the dress code entirely.
Always.

There is always someone who turns the open bar into a personal challenge.
No explanation needed.

The dress you obsessed over becomes background noise once real life kicks in.
Funny how that happens.

And just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone gives a speech that goes on a little too long.
You’re all thinking it.

The DJ will play one song that makes everyone question the playlist.
Every wedding has one.

There’s always a moment where someone whispers, “How much longer?”
They don’t mean it badly.

And somehow — despite all of this — it still works.

All laughing aside, weddings really are beautiful, and I love them.
Chaos, cold chicken, questionable shoes and all.

In a different lifetime, I honestly think I would have been a wedding planner…
but life had other plans, and I got a little sidetracked. Ha.

What truly makes a wedding beautiful — and I will always believe this — is the people.

The laughter.
The tears.
The chaos.
The love.

It’s never just about the timeline, the dress, or getting everything “right.”
It’s about the moments that happen in between — the ones you can’t plan for.

Those are the moments that linger.
The ones people retell.
The ones that become stories.

Whisper:
The best weddings are the ones people still talk about.
